Qaytbay Citadel (sultan Qaytbay built this beautiful but simple fortress during the 14th century to defend Alexandria from the advances of the Ottoman empire), Qaytbay Citadel is strategically located on a thin arm of land that extends out into Alexandria’s harbour from the Corniche, what is most significant about this fortress is that Qaytbay built on this site  to take advantage of existing foundations remaining from the legendary Pharos Lighthouse, which had fallen into ruins by the 14th century due to damage caused by numerous earthquakes. & El Mursi Abu Elabas (a stunning mosque, with a high minaret and four domes, is considered Alexandria’s largest and most important Islamic monuments). El Mursi Abu Elabas was built in 1775 AD on the eastern harbour of Alexandria over a tomb of a Spanish Saint and scholar.   Architects from all over the world come to El Mursi Abu Elabas to gain creative inspiration from it and tourists flock here to take in the ambience and photo opportunities of such a beautiful piece of architectural design and workmanship.

You will then have the opportunity to take a relaxing stroll along the Promenade Corniche, which was designed by the Italian Egyptian architect Pietro Avoscani in the year 1870.
