Tour Itinerary:

Your leader will pick you up from your hotel in Alexandria to visit Pompey’s Pillar which measures 20.46 m in height with a diameter of 2.71 m at its base and largest Roman Cemetery which dedicated, as honor, to Emperor Diocletian and back to the fourth century.

Then move to visit the Catacombs tombs which named by this name which referring to the rock cut underground tombs, also its planning like the Christian Catacomb in Rome, these tombs show scenes combines between the Ancient Egyptian Art and the Roman and Greek Arts, it’s back to the 1st:4th century, its planning consisted of 3 floors under the ground as its entrance leads to spiral staircase which leads to halls and wells.

The most important of them which belongs to Emperor “Karkla” that contains bones of human bodies and horses, the walls of the main tomb show a marvelous scenes such as Goddess “Athens” & “Anubis”.

Then visit Qaitbay Citadel which was erected on the exact site of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria and was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World which was built by order from the founder, Sultan named Al-Ashraf Abou Anasr Saif El-Din Qaitbay El-Jerkasy (1468-1496 AD), and it was considered as military construction which has been ordered to rise the protection of Egypt against the Turkish attacks during the times of Mameluke Qaitbay in Alexandria.

At the end you will drive back to your hotel in Alexandria.
