Itinerary:

Day 1:

Giza Plateau/Sakkara

You will be Picked-up by your Golden Pyramid Travel Tour Guide at your Cruise ships exit door,they will be holding a sign with your name on

Your journey to Cairo, will begin with a visit to the Giza Plateau to experience the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. You can then explore the area of the Great Sphinx, this area includes; the Statue of the Sphinx, the largest statue in the world which generated awe and fear in the hearts of visitors in Ancient times until today and the Valley Temple, these both also belong to the King Chephren Pyramid complex. You can also soak up the amazing ambiance by strolling around the ancient hall and corridors of the Valley Temple

You will enjoy your lunch at a local Restaurant during your Days Tour

You will then continue to Sakkara to the Step Pyramids of Zoser, this complex was built completely in Stone instead of wood and raw bricks by the architect Imhotep and  is considered to be the revolutionary beginning of Funerary Architecture in the 3rd Dynasty (around 2630 BC)

At the conclusion of your Tour you will be accompanied to your Hotel for check-in

 

Day 2:

Egyptian Museum/Saladin Citadel/Khan El-Khalili

After your breakfast at the Hotel you will be met by your Tour Guide to continue your Tour of Cairo by heading to the  Egyptian Museum which houses the largest collection of Egyptian Antiques from different ages through the Pharaonic Period. The Museum displays a unique assortment of Egyptian Art like the collection of the young Pharaoh Tutankhamen which contains his famous Golden mask, Jewellery, Sarcophagus and many more items. You can also enter the Mummy room “extra ticket” which houses 11 mummified Pharaoh. The Museum collections include over 120,000 items and is considered to be the most precious collection of Egyptian art in the world

Have your lunch at a local Restaurant then continue on to Saladin Citadel and the Alabaster Mosque of  Mohamed Ali an Architectural masterpiece that was built between the years 1830-1848;  designed by the architect Yousif Boushnaq, it took 3 years just to complete the design. The Mosque was built for Mohamed Ali who ruled Egypt from 1805-1849

Finally you will have the opportunity to do some shopping at Khan El Khalil Bazaar (if there’s enough time), a marvelous old market located in Old Cairo

After your memorable and interesting 2 days Tour you will be accompanied by your Guide back to Port Said to rejoin your Cruise Ship
